Kfibre is an alternative fibre option for Coeliacs and people who have an intolerance to gluten.
Firstly, Coeliac disease is an auto immune disorder and no food product can treat or manage the effect of wheat products causing the immune system to attack the gut lining. In this circumstance, kfibre provides a source of dietary fibre that can be added to existing gluten free foods as a dietary support. Kfibre is completely gluten free and has no wheat products in the manufacturing facility.
In terms of how it can help people with a sensitivity to gluten, studies have shown two things for gluten intolerances;
One is that gluten itself may not be the culprit, instead, it may be the a range of short chain carbohydrates in gluten. These sugars can be poorly absorbed in the gut and cause trouble by getting further in your gut than they should. They’re called FODMAPS (Fermentable Oligosaccharides Disaccharides Monosaccharides and Polyols) and often when a person discovers relief from their wheat or gluten linked dietary issues, it’s often these sugars that the body was reacting against.
Secondly, studies have also reported that a change from grain-based fibres to vegetable-based fibres appears to provide relief from the symptoms associated with wheat containing foods.
Kfibre can provide a benefit in several ways for people with both ceoliac disease and intolerances to gluten. It can do this by normalising digestion through microbiome changes, reduced gas production from a more uniform rate of fermentation of the prebiotic components, delivery of plant based dietary anti-inflammatories to the gut, phytonutrients, micronutrients and antioxidants.
All of this can add up to a little bit more tolerance to other triggers (other than wheat gluten for Coeliac’s) and a healthier gut that is less reactive. And as always, Kfibre is an excellent gluten free fibre choice, that is effectively unprocessed (other than the sucrose removal via water dilution) and you may find your own answer to the question of whether Kfibre can help you.
